An entire post went by and I didn't talk about my boobs? Can't let that stand for too long!
In the April update, I noted that I was planning on breaking up with the pump. Which I have done. We did give Teddy some formula to see if he could tolerate it (he can). I switched to a process known as hand expression, which is exactly what it sounds like. And much to my surprise, it is going REALLY WELL. I am in no pain and am more effectively emptying the boobs, as this pretty much mimics the pressure exerted by a nursing baby. I am expressing 5 times a day and still getting over a litre a day, so I am still freezing the excess milk. I am feeling much, much better too!
If it continues to go well, I will keep this up for as long as I can. Teddy continues to do well; at his last check-up (2 weeks ago), we weighed in at 14lbs, 10oz. He has to be over 15 lbs now. Poor Nanny is killing her arms trying to lift him! When I get back and can upload photos, I will. His emo rocker bangs are pretty awesome.
